The RDA Steering Committee would like to thank Karen Pierce and Fran Frenzel, the editors of Catalogue and Index, for allowing us to present articles that we hope will help those transitioning to Official RDA this year, before Original RDA is withdrawn as a live product in May 2027.
Wider Community Engagement Officer Getaneh Alemu (pictured) is looking forward to welcoming cataloguers across Africa to a 2-part webinar series designed with their working context in mind. Education and Orientation Officer Elisa Sze will deliver these interactive sessions and is looking forward to meeting colleagues online.

RSC Chair Renate Behrens was delighted to welcome Camilla Riis Petersen, Bibliographic Consultant, DBC Digital (pictured) to the Public Session of our April Meeting to update us on developments in Denmark.
This week the RSC was able to discharge the Extent Working Group, as it passes the baton to the String Encoding Scheme Working Group, whose first duty will be to see the Extent proposals through to completion.
RDA Examples Editor Jessica Grzegorski (pictured) has introduced a proposal on which feedback is requested ahead of the Public Session of the RSC in July.
At yesterday's RSC Public Session, voting members of the RSC approved RSC/TechnicalWG/2026/1 (with amendments proposed by RSC/TechnicalWG/2026/1/NARDAC) and RSC/TechnicalWG/2026/2 (with amendments proposed by RSC/TechnicalWG/2026/2/ORDAC).
As shared in yesterday's Public Session, the Archives Working Group is conducting a survey of Archives to gain an understanding of their awareness and use (or otherwise) of RDA.
