Call for Volunteer Libraries to Test Application Profile for AI Processes

As the latest step in its work considering the use of AI in RDA cataloguing, the Joint RDA Board / RSC Working Group on Artificial Intelligence (AI) is seeking volunteer libraries / cataloguing organizations to help test an Application Profile for AI Processes. 

A  lightweight DRAFT Application Profile with elements that may be helpfully used when creating prompts for AI-assisted cataloguing workflows has been proposed by the Joint Working Group. The RSC considered it during its meeting last week, and the RDA Board will consider it during its meeting in September. The aim is then to publish the approved DRAFT Application Profile after Board approval and to move into a testing phase. 

If your institution is currently using AI for some of your cataloguing processes, AI Working Group Chair Ahava Cohen (pictured) would love to hear from you. The Working Group is looking to recruit volunteer institutions to test the DRAFT Application Profile in their own settings. They are keen to hear from potential volunteers between now and September so that they can have a testing plan set up to coincide with the Board's signing off on the DRAFT Application Profile. 

Ideally we are looking to test across a wide geographic spread, a variety of RDA implementations, and different metadata encoding schemes.
