Ahava Cohen, RSC Representative for Europe
Ahava Cohen holds a doctorate in Information Science from Bar Ilan University, where she focused on implementations of RDA in academic libraries. She is head of the Cataloguing Section at the National Library of Israel in Jerusalem and serves on the steering committees of the Israeli Union List and the Israeli National Authority File. Ahava teaches cataloguing and technical services courses in the MLIS program at David Yellin College and provides training for public libraries through the Israel Center for Libraries. She also leads Israel’s national continuing education program for cataloguers.
Ahava has published in Cataloging & Classification Quarterly, JLIS.it, Catalogue & Index, and Judaica Librarianship and is a frequent lecturer on the intersection of cataloguing and research, particularly in the field of Jewish Studies, and on multi-lingual/multi-script cataloguing.
A member of EURIG since 2016, she has held roles as Executive Secretary, Chair, and backup Europe Representative to the RSC, and is now serving her second term as Europe Representative. Ahava chairs the RDA Board/RSC Joint Working Group on Artifical Intelligence (AI).
