On Monday, the RDA Steering Committee joined RSC Chair Renate Behrens in congratulating Ahava Cohen on being appointed by the European RDA Interest Group (EURIG) as Europe Representative to the RSC for a second term, 2025-2027. Szabolcs Dancs will continue as her back-up.

On its news page, EURIG offered its thanks to Ahava and Szabolcs, saying "EURIG is well-served by such knowledgeable and experienced representatives, and is grateful for their continued service."

The RSC echoes this sentiment, feeling equally well-served by Ahava's and Szabolcs's expertise, and grateful to EURIG for their re-appointment.

Szabolcs, of course, also serves on the RSC as Translations Team Liaison Officer and Chair of the Translations Working Group. He is continuing in this crucial role for a second term, until 31 December 2027. Both RSC Chair Renate Behrens and the Director of ALA Digital Reference James Hennelly praised the work Szabolcs has done in his first term - not only in representing the community of translators to the RSC but in the way he has undertaken outreach and awareness-raising in Central and Eastern Europe. Internationalization is core to the development of RDA, and Szabolcs's efforts have certainly progressed it in his region.
