Conferences and Events
On August 21 of this year, the European RDA Interest Group, along with the IFLA Cataloguing Section and the IFLA Committee on Standards, sponsored an IFLA World Library and Information Congress satellite meeting in Thessaloniki, Greece, at the Central Library of Aristotle University. The program covered a wide range of RDA topics and included speakers from Africa, Europe and North America.
RDA Toolkit Redesign Workshop

The first ever RDA Meeting in Brazil is set to take place next month.
The event is scheduled for April 16 to 18, 2019 in the city of Florianópolis and will bring together more than 200 information science professionals who are actively teaching and researching RDA.
The RDA Steering Committee (RSC) met on the campus of McGill University in Montréal during the week of October 22-26 (more on this meeting to come). Before the start of the meeting, the RSC took part in an outreach event at the the Grande Bibliothèque, Bibliothèque et Archives nationales du Québec (BANQ). The event was entitled The redesigned RDA Toolkit: what you need to know to get ready and was conducted as a bilingual event with presentations in both French and English with simultaneous translation available to attendees.
We are pleased to provide all presentations and notes from the Diversity of Data: RDA in the international context at the National Library of Malaysia this past August. We do not have the welcome address available here but were very appreciative to Dato Nafisah binti Ahmad, Director General at the National Library of Malaysia, for starting off this event.
At the ALA Annual Conference in New Orleans in June, the members of the RDA Steering Committee and friends organized a day-long event called "A Practical Introduction to the New RDA Toolkit". If you missed the event, you can still learn a thing or two about the new RDA Toolkit through slides and video from the event, all linked below.

Last month the European RDA Interest Group, also known as EURIG, met for their seventh annual meeting. The first day of the meeting was held at Università degli Studi di Firenze in Florence and the second day was held in the nearby town of Fiesole, home of host Casalini Libri.
