The RDA board will host a series of webinars to discuss the impact of RDA on their cataloging and metadata practices and how their parts of the world are addressing the obstacles and challenges of official RDA.

Reflecting the new modelling for serials introduced by IFLA’s Library Reference Model in the most recent revisions to RDA, this up-to-date resource is an important tool for day-to-day practice as well as a reference manual for unusual or difficult cases.
The National Library of New Zealand Te Puna Mātauranga o Aotearoa has announced that beginning August 1, 2024, they are using the Official RDA Toolkit to describe print and digital monographs and are aiming to describe all formats using the Official RDA Toolkit by the end of this year.

Community Resources is a new area of RDA Toolkit that allows institutions and organizations to share critical cataloging documents for specific communities. In this webinar James Hennelly, director of RDA Toolkit, will demo Community Resources--how it is organized, who will contribute, and what to expect from the documents gathered there.
In 2022, Elisa Sze, Education and Orientation Officer, published a “Report on Approaches to Teaching RDA in the LIS Classroom”.
A new release was posted to RDA Toolkit last week. The March 2024 release includes light changes to RDA content, the introduction of the new Community Resources space, and the additon of the Orientation version of the Guidance menu in French and Finnish languages.
During the 3R Project, several RDA elements were identified as being redundant with other elements or were considered to be too granular in scope.
The Oceania region RDA Committee (ORDAC) is pleased to present a series of three webinars exploring concepts from the Official RDA Guidance chapters, presented by ORDAC member and Oceania RSC representative Charlotte Christensen based at the National Library of New Zealand Te Puna Mātauranga o Aotearoa.
