Survey on AI in Cataloging Open for Contributions
Dr Ahava Cohen (Chair) and the other members* of the newly-formed Joint RDA Board and RSC Working Group on Artificial Intelligence (AI) are very keen to hear the views of the cataloging community on the use of Artificial Intelligence in cataloging.
RDA Board at ALA Annual Conference
The RDA Board, an international group of library professionals, is responsible for setting the strategic direction for the development of RDA and ensuring good governance of the project. They also have a role to play in raising the profile of RDA in their region.
RDA Board Appointments
The RDA Board, which is responsible for setting the strategic direction for the development of RDA, will meet next month in London. In anticipation of the April meeting the Board recently announced the current appointments for the April meeting.
Keri Cascio Joining RDA Board
Effective immediately, Keri Cascio will represent the American Library Association (ALA) on the Board of Directors for Resource, Description and Access (RDA), a unified cataloging standard designed for the global, digital world and metadata users in many environments.
Committee of Principals Governance Transition Plan
Last month the Committee of Principles affirmed their commitment to the internationalization of the RDA standard and stated that a transition plan for the new governance structure prior to the IFLA conference this month.
Committee of Principals Affirms Commitment to the Internationalisation of RDA
The Committee of Principals for RDA has issued the following statement dated 29 May 2015: RDA is a package of data elements, guidelines, and instructions for creating library and cultural heritage resource metadata that are well-formed according to international models for user-focussed linked data applications.

At their 2014 meeting the Committee of Principals (CoP) [now RDA Board] created a new vision and agreed four Strategic Priorities that will form the basis of their Strategic Plan 2015-2020.
