Presentation and Tools from the National Library of Greece

The RSC would like to thank Michalis Gerolimos (pictured) for his presentation on Official RDA at the National Library of Greece during the Public Session of the RSC on Tuesday (15 July).
We would also like to thank his former colleague Sofia Zapounidou for joining Michalis to answer some of the questions about the implementation project and some of the tools developed during it - the transliteration tool was especially of interest to many of the cataloguers present in the Zoom room.
The presentation and Q&A is available on YouTube.
A link to it is also included now on our Implementing Official RDA webpage, which also includes links to the two tools Michalis highlighted:
- transliteration.nlg.gr provides transliterations following ALA-LC Romanization and following ISO 843:1997
- data.nlg.gr is a Wikibase prototype which converts data as is into RDA/RDF
Also of interest: the latest issue of the IFLA Standards Newsletter includes an article on 'Future-Ready Cataloguers: Embracing Entity-Based Cataloguing with RDA/RDF at the National Library of Greece' by Sofia Zapounidou, Michalis Gerolimos, Eftychia Koufakou.
