Chris Holden, RSC Technical Team Liaison Officer

Chris Holden is a Senior Music Cataloging Specialist in the Music Division of the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C., where he has worked since 2017. His work there involves cataloguing musical scores, including the division's extensive collections of first editions and manuscripts, as well as monographs on music. He previously worked as the assistant music librarian at East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina.
Chris is an active member of the Music Library Association (MLA), where he served as the editor of the Music Cataloging Bulletin from 2015 to 2020. He currently serves as chair of the Cataloguing and Metadata Section of the International Association of Music Libraries, Archives and Documentation Centres (IAML). He has published articles on cataloguing and music discovery in Cataloging and Classification Quarterly, Library Resources & Technical Services, and Notes, the Quarterly Journal of the Music Library Association, and has also served as a peer reviewer for articles in numerous academic journals.
He started his term as the RDA Technical Team Liaison in 2025, and in this capacity he also serves as the Chair of the Technical Working Group.
