Events in Latin America
In the Joint Meeting of the RDA Board and RDA Steering Committee yesterday, National Institution Representative to the RDA Board Ángela Quiroz Ubierna and RSC Representative to Latin America and the Caribbean Felipe Martinez (pictured) shared news of a range of events in Latin America, some organised by ALyC and others organised by the wider range of cataloguing organizations in the Region.
These include upcoming opportunities:
- 3rd Meeting on Education for Information Organization “New Pedagogical and Technological Perspectives for Teaching and Applying the Official RDA Toolkit in the Training of Librarians”, School of Library Science, Documentation and Information, National University of Costa Rica, 26-29 May 2026. - 8th Colloquium on RDA in Latin America and the Caribbean, University of Costa Rica, November 2026. Further information will be announced soon.
Ángela also reported that ABINIA (the Association of National Libraries of Ibero-America) is running a series of training sessions on Official RDA, which began in March and will run until November. Each session is attended by an average of 300 people working in national libraries.
