As the latest step in its work considering the use of AI in RDA cataloguing, the Joint RDA Board / RSC Working Group on Artificial Intelligence (AI) is seeking volunteer libraries / cataloguing organizations to help test an Application Profile for AI Processes.
Observers at the RSC Public Session on 28 July may recall that the RSC approved the addition of terms for wood engraver, etc. and asked Translations Team Liaison Officer Szabolcs Dancs (pictured) to prepare a proposal to change the definition of engraver agent, etc. to make it clear that it is for intaglio techniques.
In its July Public Session, voting members of the RSC approved RDA Examples Editor Jessica Grzegorski's proposal to revise the preferred order of recording sources for early printed resources in Data provenance: Recording a source of metadata that is a manifestation that is being described (RSC/ExamplesEditor/2026/1/decisions).

Mexico RDA Group: Series on RDA Concepts

The RDA Steering Committee would like to thank Karen Pierce and Fran Frenzel, the editors of Catalogue and Index, for allowing us to present articles that we hope will help those transitioning to Official RDA this year, before Original RDA is withdrawn as a live product in May 2027.
Like the February release, the June 2026 release is another light one. It includes a the addition of a few examples to guidance on normalized transcription. Updates and corrections were made to policy statements from the British Library, the U.S. Library of Congress - PCC, RMBS, OLAC, MLA, and the National Library of New Zealand.
