The RDA Board and the RDA Steering Committee (RSC) have now taken the next step in implementing the new Governance Model by recruiting for a number of key posts on both the Board and the RSC.
RDA Steering Committee Chair and Others From the Field of Cataloguing Receive IFLA Awards
RDA Board were delighted to see that Gordon Dunsire, Chair of the RDA Steering Committee, was acknowledged with an IFLA Medal in the closing ceremony of the 2016 World Library and Information Congress in Columbus, Ohio last week.

The RDA Steering Committee (RSC) will meet November 7-11, 2016, in Frankfurt, Germany at Deutsche Nationalbibliothek.
RDA in Europe
The interim UK community representation has merged with the DNB community representation to form a single interim Europe Region representation on the RDA Steering Committee.
Renate Behrens remains on the committee as the representative of the Interim Europe Region. Alan Danskin, the representative of the former UK community, has stepped down from the committee.
RSC/AggregatesWG/1 - Discussion paper: RDA and WGA treatment of aggregates
Status: Discussion paper and responses were discussed at the November 2016 RSC meeting. Referred for consideration as part of the 3R Project.
RSC/TechnicalWG/2 - RDA 9.2: Addition of elements for Given name and Surname
Status: Proposal and responses were discussed at the November 2016 RSC meeting. Proposal not accepted; referred for consideration as part of the 3R Project, specifically as part of the work on the Nomen entity.
RSC/TechnicalWG/1 - RDA models for provenance data
Status: Discussion paper and responses were discussed at the November 2016 RSC meeting. Recommendations 1-4 were accepted. Referred for consideration as part of the 3R Project.
