During the month of May work began on transferring RDA Toolkit and related websites to a new server and under the support and maintenance of a new developer. The sites included in this move are access.rdatoolkit.org and orginal.rdatoolkit.org, as well as rdatoolkit.org and rda-rsc.org. All the content currently on these sites will be transferred to the new server. This work will be completed by late October. This move should have little to no impact on RDA Toolkit users, with two exceptions.
- A new administration system to manage accounts and logins will be implemented as part of the transition. The new system will continue to support IP authentication and login by account ID or by profile name. While every possible step will be taken to avoid problems, there are typically some logins difficulties with these type of transitions.
- The creation of new workflow or other user-created documents will no longer be supported on the original RDA Toolkit after the server migration. Also editing of existing workflows will not be supported after the migration. All existing user-created documents will be moved over to the new server and made accessible according to the document specification (i.e. Global, Local, or Private).
Finally, it should be noted that this transition is not related to the starting of the countdown clock on the original RDA Toolkit site, and no date for starting the countdown clock has been set.
