Event Description: Application Profiles are a key component in applying the revised RDA. The Guidance chapter provides information about what an Application Profile is, but why are these instructions important and how can you practically apply them? In this webinar, presenter Melissa Parent from the State Library of Victoria (Australia) discusses how to create a profile, the benefits of a profile in policy statement development, and how a profile can serve your organization's implementation of RDA.

Event Description: Honor Moody (Metadata Creation Manager for Harvard Library) introduces attendees to the concept of entity boundaries and how they are implemented in RDA to assist humans and machines in determining when to create a new entity description. Emphasis is placed on differentiating between absolute entity boundaries and entity boundaries that are determined according to “bibliographic and cultural conventions” and on identifying tacit entity boundaries currently in use when describing resources.
