Countdown Clock for Original RDA Toolkit Set for May 2026

The RDA Board in consultation with the Copyright Holders of RDA have determined that a hard date for the removal of the original RDA Toolkit website is needed. This determination was made against a backdrop of giving user communities plenty of time for planning in their transition to official RDA. The Board plans to begin a countdown clock in May 2026 (specific date still to be determined), with the removal of the original Toolkit taking place a year later—May 2027. This plan was presented to the RDA Steering Committee last week, and the RSC fully supported this decision.

Teaching RDA in the LIS Classroom: Report and Webinar

In September 2021, Elisa Sze of the University of Toronto was appointed to the position of Education and Orientation Officer for the RDA Steering Committee (RSC). Her charge as EOO is to liaise with LIS educators and instructors across multiple regions, creating an informal network of RDA educators and instructors and feeding the perspectives and needs of the educational community back to the RSC.

Update: Concurrency Reports Now Available

UPDATE: RDA Toolkit concurrency reporting is now available through the LibLynx admin site. How to access LibLynx is described below. Once you are logged in you can select the Usage Control tabs. There you will find graphs tracking daily peak concurrency over the past 30 days and monthly peak concurrency for the past 12 months. Currently these reports cannot be exported to a spreadsheet, but that capability will be added soon.
