RDA Toolkit Free Trial Request Form

Many users need a chance to review and evaluate RDA Toolkit before deciding on the type of subscription that best meets their needs. If you are interested in a trial for yourself or your institution, please complete and submit this form. The RDA Toolkit Free Trial allows you access to all the features of RDA Toolkit, with the exception of the print function.

Each user or institution is limited to one free 30-day trial. The RDA Toolkit staff will contact you within two business days after receipt of your trial request.

Please complete the form below and then click "submit".

Email is our primary means of communication with RDA Toolkit users. In lieu of IP or referring URL authenticated access, this email address will also be used as the account User Name.

Please select the access type that you are most likely to select for a subscription.

Choose INSTITUTIONAL ACCESS if there will be more than one concurrent user at your site (institutional access typically uses IP authentication or a referring URL). If you plan to subscribe to the RDA Toolkit through a consortia, then you (and your consortium partners) should separately sign up for institutional access for the trial period. We'll be able to combine your trial institutional accounts under a consortium account as needed once the group subscription is completed.

Choose SOLO-USER ACCESS if you will only have one user at your site (user name/password authentication only).

Most users should sign up for institutional access. Why?

  • Your institution can have an unlimited number of concurrent users during the trial period.
  • You and your colleagues can test the sharing of workflows and mappings within your institution.
  • You and your colleagues can take advantage of IP authentication to avoid institutional login (users will just log in to access their personal profile).

The User Name for Solo-user accounts is your email address. Please enter your desired Password in the box above. If possible, we will accommodate your request, otherwise a generic password will be assigned. You will be able to change the password from within the RDA Toolkit after your initial login.

Please enter IP range(s) or referring URL (if you have this information) so your users can be automatically recognized without having to perform an institutional login.

In addition, please choose an institutional User Name and Password for your trial account. Users can use this password for offsite access and for use in third party products like OCLC Connexion and Cataloger's Desktop.

Please enter your desired institutional User Name in the box above. If possible, we will accommodate your request, otherwise a generic user name will be assigned. You will be able to change the user name from within the RDA Toolkit after your initial login.

The user name is institution specific and is intended to be shared with your users so they have off-site access to your institution's account and access from within third party products like OCLC Connexion and Cataloger's Desktop.

Your institution's user name is different from the Profile Name, which is specific to individuals. Users will create their own unique profile name from within the RDA Toolkit site in order to save and share their work.
