A new release was pushed to the live site of RDA Toolkit on June 12, 2012. When there is a new release for RDA Toolkit, it is made on the second Tuesday of the month. Releases typically contain updates to content and metadata, enhancements to RDA Toolkit functionality, and fixes to existing bugs. The details of the June release follow.
Library of Congress Policy Statements (LCPS) were revised and updated in response to the changes in RDA. This revision included additions and deletions of LCPSs, corrections of typos, and rewritings of some standing LCPSs. A complete list of the revised LCPSs is available on the Library of Congress website.
Fast track changes from the JSC and new glossary terms were included. Details on the June Fast Track changes and past changes can be found on the JSC site in the Secretary Document Series.
The Help Guide was revised and updated. Most notably, further detail was added to the User Created Content section in regard to using the Workflow and Map editor.
The release included the addition of Core Instruction and Basic Instruction filters to the Advanced Search menu.
Users now have the option to turn off the paging display of RDA instructions through the Toolkit Settings section of the Manage Profile page.
Update History links to the Instruction Archive were redirected to resolve to the summary of change to the instruction. The out-dated instruction text follows immediately after.
There is no release scheduled for July. The next release is currently scheduled for August 14, 2012.
