In RDA Toolkit, a cross-reference to another instruction is a hyperlink with a label consisting of the instruction number followed by an RDA "button". The button is part of the hyperlink. This becomes inconsistent when the cross-reference is to a range of instructions, for example 6.28.1.9–6.28.1.11 RDA (from 6.28.4.4). This is actually two hyperlinks: "6.28.1.9", and "6.28.1.11 RDA". This presumably will confuse many users, who click the RDA button and expect to be taken to the first instruction in the range; instead the link is to the last instruction.

As we add more and more links to outside resources to RDA Toolkit (for example the links we are adding to the AACR2 display, see RDA-125), users would like to be able to turn off links that are not of interest in order to unclutter the display.

Beginning in April 2013, AACR2 will only be available online at RD Toolkit. Cataloger Desktop subscribers will need a subscription to RDA Toolkit to access the AACR2 rules. Frequent users of AACR2 on Catalogers Desktop are used the interface provided on that site and and will have similar expectations for AACR2 on RDA Toolkit.

Users conducting an "Exclude Examples" search are confused by the presence of highlighted hits in the examples when clicking through to a search result. The highlighting of search terms is a process done separately from the search, so the presence of highlighted search terms in an example does not factor in the determination of search results. However, the highlighting in the examples is misleading and undermines user confidence in the search.
